The IWG and SLU are seeking a Conference Manager

The IWG and the Finnish Sports Federation are seeking a Conference Manager for the 6th IWG World Conference on Women and Sport, held in Helsinki, Finland, on June 12-15, 2014.

The Finnish Sports Federation (Suomen Liikunta ja Urheilu SLU ry) is an umbrella organisation for over 130 member organisations, the membership of which totals over 1.1 million Finns.  International Working Group on Women and Sport, IWG (www.iwg-gti.org) is a global network promoting gender equality in sports. The IWG Secretariat is based in SLU for the years 2010 – 2014.
 
IWG and SLU will organize the 6th IWG World Conference on Women and Sport “Lead the Change, Be the Change” in Helsinki on 12-15 June 2014.
 
SLU is seeking to hire a qualified individual for the position of Conference Manager for the period of October 1, 2012 through August 31, 2014. 
 
Requirements: 
 
  • Strong experience in organizing, management and marketing of successful large-scale international conferences
  • Excellent English and Finnish communication skills, both oral and written, additional language skills are also welcomed
  • Strong commitment for an intensive working period in an exciting international environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding international working environment while respecting deadlines and managing multiple tasks at once with attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge or interest in both international and national sport and/or gender equality policies
  • Ability to innovate and creatively apply new technologies to conference planning
