Vision and Strategy

Vision2020

The Vision2020 of Finnish sports and physical activity is crystallized in the words "We are the world's most physically active nation – 2020".

Finnish sports organisations take the view that sports and physical activity is a way of life for people of all ages, as well as a valuable, natural part of the entire lifespan.

The starting point is to increase the quantity and quality of physical activity in the whole population over the entirety of their lifespan. The motives and experiences encouraging sports and physical activity take centre stage. Our dream is that everyone would have the possibility to practice sports and physical activity according to their own qualifications and goals.

Vision2020 means:

  • Sports and physical activity are a way of life
  • Physical activity is an integral part of childhood and youth
  • Physical activity and sports are the most significant factors contributing to well-being
  • Finnish top-level sports is inspiring and internationally successful
  • Collaboration is our competitive advantage.

Finnish Sports Federation Strategy Map 2020

The choices made by the FSF are based on the common vision of Finnish sports organisations: "We are the world's most physically active sports nation - 2020." The strategy of the FSF contributes to the realization of this vision.

The FSF will take a more distinct responsibility for the shared leadership of sports organisations, advocacy work and development of services.

FSF
   •   Leads and unites
   •   Advocates and communicates
   •   Develops and serves

Our values are based on Fair Play.

Leadership means inspiring pioneer spirit, coordination of cooperation and firm implementation of changes agreed upon. The FSF wants to be a strong advocate in sports policy, and the importance of communication is emphasized.

The FSF will, together with its member organisations, determine the need for change in its organisational structure and the necessary measures in 2011-2012. A common service concept for FSF and its member organisations is also an objective, which means a one-stop service policy towards clubs, among other things.

The FSF Strategy Map 2020 was approved in the second biannual meeting in Lahti on 20 November 2010.
